Built-in scarcity

The initial distribution on the Lisk blockchain was 100,000,000 LSK. Since the launch of the Lisk blockchain in May 2016 individuals are being incentivized for securing it. This incentivization is part of every new block and can not be changed. It's called a block reward.

The LSK token supply is disinflationary. While the block rewards started out with 5 LSK for every new block, the algorithm behind decreases it every year by 1 LSK.

Today, the Lisk blockchain distributes block rewards of 2 LSK and it will change to the final block reward of 1 LSK in October 2020, on which it will stay forever.

Keep your LSK safe

LSK is supported by several exchanges and third-party wallets, however, the most recommended way to store and manage your LSK is in the official Lisk wallet, available on both desktop and mobile.

They are actively maintained, provide the most secure and easiest way to access your LSK and are constantly being improved with new features.
